Product Care
CLEANING
If the gear gets dirty, it is recommended to hand wash in warm, soapy water (Dawn dish soap is great but laundry detergent can be used as well) and air dry away from direct heat or sunlight.
For collars that are a lil extra dirty, gently scrubbing with a toothbrush and soap in addition to the soak.
For those that may have gotten a little stinky (lake/creek water, some unmentionable incident, etc 😅) you can add a dash of white vinegar or baking soda to their soak.
Using a spray like scotchgard can be used, at your own discretion, to help block stains and help preserve the life of your gear. These types of protectants can help create an easier clean-up all around.
Make sure you remove the collar from the dog when not in use to prevent the possibility of the fur becoming creased, to allow the collar to thoroughly dry if wet, and to preserve the life of the collar.
PRE SOAK AND WEBBING DYE
Once your item/s have been made and embroidered, each item is pre-soaked in warm water and Dawn soap for a minimum of 24 hours.
This gets the majority of the excess dye out but it may require an additional soak once you receive it.
The color may still bleed within the first few uses especially if using in water.
To help set color and remove any excess dye, just soak in warm water with a bit of soap overnight just like in the item's pre-soak.
This is something to keep in mind as some color could bleed onto white or some light color embroidery threads.
The "hot" colors are known to have a lot of bleed to them. Some of the others can as well depending on the manufacturers dye lots but those are less frequent than with the "hot" webbing colors.
LOOSE THREADS
Like your mama always said…
Never pull loose threads! Trim first then lightly use a lighter to fix trouble spots.
ADJUSTING THE FIT OF A COLLAR
When adjusting for fit, roll the collar onto the hook side of the Velcro so that the collar can easily conform to the shape of the dog’s neck.
Do not Velcro the collar flat as this will result in the shape of the collar being uneven when on the dog.
USE/WEAR AND TEAR
Collar, leash, and harness safety is the responsibility of the owner. All AMG products are made with quality materials but no item is indestructible.
Keep a close watch for wear and tear and replace when necessary.
We will not be responsible for any mishaps that may occur due to the use of our product; the buyer is solely responsible for the product after it is shipped.
We do not guarantee our products against chewing when left unattended or pulls or mishaps in the embroidery from rubbing, rolling, nails, teeth, etc.
Over-exposure to items by sunlight and other environmental factors including but not limited to excessive saltwater or chlorine will cause the material to fade and degrade due to the nature of the webbing.
Check the bungee on harnesses regularly for loose ends or ends getting shorter and if so re-tie, or as needed, replace with a new cord.
Retie/replace would individually depend on each harness' use, the amount of use, the time used on that bungee, as well as depend on the dog.
